Sports Card Centering Calculator
Check sports card centering before you grade or sell a card. Enter the left, right, top, and bottom border measurements from a photo or scan, then get horizontal, vertical, and overall centering estimates instantly.
How to use this sports card centering calculator
Measure the border from the card edge to the printed design on each side. Use the same unit for all four fields: millimeters from the physical card, pixels from a scan, or any consistent measurement from a straight photo.
The calculator reports left/right and top/bottom splits. A 50/50 split is perfectly centered, 55/45 is slightly off, and 60/40 or worse can become important when grading valuable cards.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate sports card centering?
Measure the left and right borders, then divide the smaller border by the total of both borders. Repeat for the top and bottom borders. A perfectly centered card is close to 50/50.
What does 60/40 centering mean?
A 60/40 result means one border takes about 60 percent of the border width while the opposite border takes about 40 percent. The closer the split is to 50/50, the better the centering.
Can this calculator predict a PSA or BGS grade?
No. Centering is only one part of a card grade. Corners, edges, surface, print quality, authenticity, and professional grading standards all matter.
Should I measure in millimeters or pixels?
Either works as long as all four measurements use the same unit. You can measure borders in millimeters from the physical card or pixels from a straight photo or scan.
Is this card centering calculator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up, no upload, and no limit.
